Pilea cadierei is a flowering plant in the nettle family. It’s also known as the aluminum plant or watermelon pilea. The plant is native to Vietnam and the southern Chinese provinces of Guizhou and Yunnan. It’s a fast-growing perennial that can grow up to 12 inches tall.

The plant’s leaves are green and silver, and look like they’ve been splashed with aluminum paint. It’s easy to grow, but it needs humidity.

The plant is toxic, so you should be careful around pets and animals.
