Persian Shield Silver, scientifically known as Strobilanthes gossypinus, is a captivating evergreen shrub cherished for its exceptionally unique and luminous foliage. Native to India and Sri Lanka, its species name ‘gossypinus’ (meaning cotton-like) aptly describes the dense, fine, silvery-white hairs that cover its lance-shaped leaves, giving them a soft, velvety texture and a shimmering, metallic appearance. New growth often emerges with a subtle golden hue before maturing to this distinctive silver-grey. Cultivation and Care:
