Musa zebrina, also known as Blood Banana, is an ornamental banana tree. It’s native to Sumatra, Indonesia.
Description
- Size: A dwarf grower that usually reaches 10 to 12 feet tall.
- Leaves: Blue-green leaves with red blotches on top and solid maroon bottoms. The undersides of the leaves and the trunks are also red.
- Fruit: Small-seeded fruits that are edible.
- Hardiness zones: Grows in USDA hardiness zones eight through 11.
- Sunlight: Needs sun to help its foliage and blooms grow.
