Alocasia Amazonica, more commonly known as the Alocasia Polly, is a hybrid cultivation. It’s happiest when given a warm spot and a lot of humidity! Origin: Hybrid cultivation, though its ‘parent plants’ (Alocasia longiloba x Alocasia sanderiana) are native to tropical Asia.

- Alternate Names:Â Alocasia Polly, African Mask Plant, Elephant Ear Plant.
- Height:Â 2 ft (60 cm) height and spread
- Soil:Â Lightweight, well-draining potting mix.
- Light:Â Bright, indirect light. Avoid excessive direct sunlight.
- Temperature: 65-80°F/18-27°C. Below 60°F may trigger dormancy.
- Water:Â Maintain evenly moist but not soggy soil during the growing season, watering when the surface begins to dry. Reduce watering significantly in winter.
- Humidity:Â Moderate to high humidity levels are required, ideally greater than 50% humidity.
- Fertilizer:Â Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, water soluble fertilizer. Dilute to half strength, particularly in spring and autumn. There is no need to fertilize during the winter. Flush the potting mix every 2-3 months.
- Propagation:Â Gently divide the rhizome when repotting in springtime.
