Key Care Requirements
- Light: Prefers bright, filtered, or indirect light. They can tolerate partial shade, particularly in hot climates, but require bright conditions to maintain their color and thrive.
- Water: Needs consistent, high moisture, but they are susceptible to root rot if left in waterlogged conditions. Water thoroughly, and keep the soil slightly moist.
- Soil: Requires well-draining, nutrient-rich soil, preferably with high organic content.
- Humidity: Thrives in high-humidity environments, above 60%.
- Temperature: Prefers warm, tropical conditions, with a minimum temperature of around 20°C (68°F) during the growing season. They are generally not frost-tolerant.
- Fertilizer: Feed regularly every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
- Propagation: Can be propagated from stem cuttings, particularly in spring or early summer.
